The Moynihan Train Hall is an extension of Pennsylvania Station, New York's main intercity and commuter rail station, located in the city's former main post office, the James A. Farley Building. The new concourse turns the more than 100-year-old building into a modern transportation hub. The idea came more than a quarter of a century ago from the late US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, for whom the concourse is named. The Moynihan Train Hall will nearly double the existing space at Penn Station. The 255,000-square-foot concourse houses both ticket counters and waiting rooms. In addition, the Moynihan Train Hall itself is a vibrant space with a variety of shops, restaurants and community events.
The Moynihan Food Hall is a meeting place for hungry travellers, and one of the fixtures in use is our Beam Me Up G3 pendant luminaire. The two-tone conical pendant luminaires fit perfectly into the hall's modern lighting scheme and create a welcoming atmosphere with their striking, elegant design.
