Østre Skole in Holbæk, Denmark, was built in 1902. Today it serves as a workplace for about 400 employees. When restoring this historic school building, the primary goal was to preserve the original architectural character of the building. It was equally important to modernise the interior to meet the requirements of a contemporary office environment. Our partner Luminex designed and implemented a comprehensive lighting solution that highlights the magnificent spaces of this 100+ year old school building while interacting harmoniously with the varying ceiling heights.
In the course of converting the school into office workplaces, the focus was on contemporary and efficient lighting, both at the individual workstations and in the smaller meeting rooms, where the light can be adjusted to the personal preferences of the employees. In the hallway with its high ceiling, our Ringo Star LED luminaire was installed, giving the room a special lightness. In the old gymnasium, where the historic floor and ceiling structure have been preserved, our Midpoint Suspended P7 luminaires were installed. These not only provide the appropriate lighting, but also emphasise the majestic ceiling height and the preserved pieces of furniture. Basic NEO A5 wall luminaires with a profile height of only 38 mm were installed in the stairwells.
