The former Antwerp courthouse, the centre of Antwerp's judiciary until 2006, has been undergoing extensive renovation and restoration since November 2019. Built in 1877, the building underwent extensive renovation due to its limited size and the need to adapt it to the demands of modern times.
Once the restoration work is complete, the building will take on a new role in the Belgian judicial landscape, housing the Court of Appeal, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Labour Court, the Court of Audit and the Antwerp Jury Court. As well as fulfilling an important institutional function, the building will also serve as an example of modern judicial architecture.
One eye-catcher in particular stands out in the cafeteria for the staff in the building: Our Ringo Star P1 structure combined with our Midpoint A6. The unusual lighting object gives the cafeteria a modern aesthetic.
